Haverhill threw a scare into unbeaten Boston Latin Academy before falling 3-1. BLA finally clinched it on a late empty-net goal. Zach Grundy (27) came up big in net for the Hillies. Tom Maguire scored the goal while Pat Fitzgerald and John Rankin had stellar all-around games.

No. 4-seeded Andover posted a 3-2 victory over No. 5 seeded-Boston Latin Academy in the Division 1 North quarterfinals in boys tennis.

Christian Waters won his No. 2 singles match 6-4, 6-2. 

The Central Catholic boys volleyball team continues to feast on non-league opponents in the North sectional, blanking Boston Latin Academy 3-0. Ryan Barbera had 24 assists and 13 service points for the Raiders (14-6), who will face the winner of today's Lawrence-Cambridge Rindge& Latin matchup.

Cam Conway saved 23 shots but Methuen hockey lost 2-0 to Boston Latin.

Freshman goalie Keith Linnane earned his first career shutout and his first varsity victory, helping North Reading defeat Boston Latin Academy, 2-0, in the opener of the Roy Condon Tourney. Kyle Shiner and Erik Morrison provided superb defense in front of Linnane and Eric Sokolski's two goals gave the Hornets all the offense they needed.

 The Lawrence Lancers have advanced further into the MIAA tournament after defeating Boston Latin Acedemy on Tuesday. Lawrence needed just three games to take care of buisness,winning 25-17, 27-25, 25-22.

Pat O'Leary turned in another outstanding night, making 42 saves to help ever-improving Methuen to a 1-1 tie with Boston Latin Academy. Both teams stand at 7-6-4. 

Freshman Matt Bauchman continues to play well as he netted a goal in the opening period to help Methuen post a 1-1 tie against Boston Latin.The freshman has six goals in his first nine game for the Rangers (4-2-3). 

Andover cruised to a 3-2 victory over Boston Latin Academy in yesterday's Division 1 quarterfinals. Bjorn Merinder led the way out of the first singles spot as he's been doing all year with a 6-4, 6-4 victory, and the second doubles team of Andrew Mack and Randy Sartor won an unblemished match 6-0, 6-0.

Ylvin Hiraldo notched a team-best 25 assists and 10 service points as No. 7 Lawrence bested No. 3 Latin Academy 25-24, 25-19, 25-20 in the quarterfinals of the North tournament. Ramon Heredia added 12 kills for the Lancers, who travel to face Andover on Saturday, with the time depending on the Andover baseball game.
