Peter Crapsey Jr., a third grader from Silver Hill Horace Mann Charter School in Haverhill won the national title in the 1,500 with a personal best time of 5:31.02 over the weekend in the AAU Indoor Nationals in Bloomington, Ill. He led from start to finish and won by 50 meters. The day before, he finished eighth in the 400 (1:17.98) and second in the 800 with a 2:45.02, which broke the previous meet record of 2:45.81.

Following his first career start in which he earned a shutout and added an assist, sophomore Merrimack College goaltender Sam Marotta was named the Hockey East Defensive Player of the Week.
Marotta made 25 saves in a 5-0 win over Connecticut Saturday. He notched his first collegiate assist after stopping a short-handed breakaway which resulted in a goal by Jeff Velleca.
