Two of the top teams in Division 1 squared off but in the end Londonderry just had too much for archrival Pinkerton. Lindsey Bolduc has 15 points, Katherine Dzenis 12 and Jaime King 10 as the Lancers rolled 50-36.

Freshman Casey Evans poured in a career-high 17 points and grabbed seven rebounds to lead Londonderry girls basketball 70-45 over Alvirne.

Aliza Simpson added 19 points and eight steals. 

With Timberlane riding state title efforts from the long-distance duo of Hannah Kimball and Katerine Estep and Pinkerton riding loads of point-scoring contributors, the two school tied for third place in the Division 1 state championships at Dartmouth College.

Behind gutsy performances from Grant Langevin and the 4x200 meter relay team, Pinkerton edged out Merrimack to take home the Division 1 state title for the first time since 1993.

In a meet at Dartmouth College that came down to that final relay, the Astros scored 68 points for the title, five more than Merrimack.

Tanner Burke, Jean-Luc Lemieux and Zack Daigle all wrestled well again as Pinkerton won 48-24 over Londonderry in boys wrestling.

Londonderry almost pulled off a big upset in a defensive war against Merrimack, just falling short, 41-40. Drew Coveney kept the Lancers close with his 17-point effort including a 5 for 7 effort from 3-point range.

Londonderry's Ana Milosavljevic placed in the top six in three events (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke) at a multi-school swim meet at Oyster River.

Morgan McGrath led a great 1,000 meter run for Londonderry at qualifying standard competition at Univeristy of Southern Maine as the top four finishers were fellow Lancers. Londonderry's Patty Driscoll took top honors in the shot put, and Pinkerton also had a solid meet led by Margaret Barrie's triumph in the 300.

Emmitt Smith traveled to University of Southern Maine with his Pinkerton and took home a pair of victories in qualifying standard competition. Smith won in the 55 meter dash (6.70 seconds) and the long jump (20-9 1/2).

Timberlane and Londonderry tied for first in a seven-team meet in the giant slalom. Londonderry's Justine Rouleau and Timberlane's Becca Bassi went 1-2.
