It took a bunch of big overtime efforts but Salem finally downed Manchester West, 84-79 in two extra sessions. Danny Salvo (eight points) drew a timely charge in the first overtime, Jonny Klecan (19 points, 10 assists, 10 of 13 from the foul line in OT) put the Blue Devils on top, Steve Nugent's putback made it a two-possession game and Ben Slepian (26 points) locked up the win with big 3-pointers and a pair of late free throws.

Emily Rose poured in a season-high 21 points to lead Timberlane girls basketball 66-54 over Salem. 

With Timberlane riding state title efforts from the long-distance duo of Hannah Kimball and Katerine Estep and Pinkerton riding loads of point-scoring contributors, the two school tied for third place in the Division 1 state championships at Dartmouth College.

Behind gutsy performances from Grant Langevin and the 4x200 meter relay team, Pinkerton edged out Merrimack to take home the Division 1 state title for the first time since 1993.

In a meet at Dartmouth College that came down to that final relay, the Astros scored 68 points for the title, five more than Merrimack.

Brenna Blakslee (12) and Amanda Bickford (10) combined for 22 points as Salem whipped Alvirne 65-41. 

Courtney Thompson won the all-around to help Pinkerton win its three-team meet with 136.25 points and finish its regular season with a 14-0 record.

Thompson has won the all-around every time she has competed in it this season. 

Senior Ben Slepian netted a career high 30 points to lead Salem 66-61 over Manchester Central.

Slepian scored 13 points in the fourth. He netted a 3-pointer with a little more than 1:00 left to make it a six-point game. 

Londonderry's Ana Milosavljevic placed in the top six in three events (200 freestyle, 100 butterfly and 100 breaststroke) at a multi-school swim meet at Oyster River.

Timberlane's Danielle Gajewski won the 300 and was runner-up in the 55 meter dash to lead locals in the early session of state meet qualifying at UNH. Salem had a pair of winners as Alyssa Lambert prevailed in the 1,000 and Victoria Rozumek won the high jump.

Salem's Jerickson Fedrick continued an impressive indoor track season, blazing to another victory in the 55 meter dash in 6.4 seconds. Fedrick was the lone local individual victor in the early session of qualifying runs at UNH.
