Just enough to win

North Reading's Terri Ferrazzani and Lynnfield's Melody Mancinelli hooked up in a classic pitchers duel, yielding just two hits apiece. With a second-inning suicide squeeze from sophomore Tarah Reilly and a fourth-inning RBI triple from Ferrazzani, North Reading did just enough to escape with a 2-0 victory. Shelby Carney backed Ferrazzani up with six putouts in center field and Merri Moise took a pair of Lynnfield hits away with her strong range at shortstop.

Warnock and Linnane lead North Reading

RJ. Warnock was working on a three-hit gem but was behind by a run when he came to bat in the last of the fifth.  With two runners on, Warnock delivered a two-out double to help his own cause and lead North Reading to a 2-1 win over Lynnfield.  On the mound, the junior struck out three for a complete-game win.

Sarah Higgins, an Eagle-Tribune Super-Teamer this basketball season, also can play lacrosse apparently. She netted five goals and recorded two assists, two draw controls and four ground balls as the Pentucket girls won 17-11 over Lynnfield.

Knights win battle of CAL powers

Dan Rivet scored midway through the third to give North Andover the lead, and Jake Silk iced the victory with an empty net goal as the Scarlet Knights handed Lynnfield third third loss of the season, 5-3. Silk scored twice and Dan O'Connor had three assists for the Knights (12-3-3).
