Promotion pays off for Sanborn

Brought up to the varsity earlier in the week, freshman Brendan Hamilton battled on the mound for nine innings, setting the stage for classmate Grant Wagner's heroics as Sanborn prevailed over Raymond, 6-5. Wagner stroked a run-scoring single to re-tie the game in the eighth inning, then ripped a three-run double to win the game in the ninth. Hamilton (10 hits allowed, nine strikeouts) got the big outs when he needed for the Indians.

Ryan zeroes in

Dillon Ryan registered his first career no-hitter as Whittier slammed Minuteman, 12-0 in six innings. Only two errors stood in the way of a perfect game for the senior who struck out 10. "He was on with everything," said Wildcat head coach Joe Boland. "He was throwing smoke, had a good breaking ball and stayed ahead of hitters all day."
