Golden Warrior freshman Sebastian Silviera ran a speedy 53.74 to take the 400, while the Hillies were led by Pat Garvey, who won the high jump, 110 hurdles and 400 hurdles.

Methuen's boys track team won the 4x400 relay to nip Tewksbury in a 73-72 thriller. Freshman John St.Hilaire and Stephen Lilja got a big lead and Rudy Severino and Keith Erickson carried it home in 3:36.7. Sam Weeks swept the shot put (48-3) and discus for the Rangers, Angel Baez won the 100 and 200 and anchored the winning 4x100 relay and Mike O'Donnell was first in both the mile (4:28.9) and 80 (2:01.4).
