Windham senior Susie Poore was nipped at the wire but still finished second with an excellent 5K time of 18:48 at the Southern Cluster Meet at St. Anselm College. Windham finished fifth among eight teams.

Reggies score three wins

Christian Paniagua was second overall in 17:45 to lead Greater Lawrence to a sweep of Greater Lowell (27-29), PMA (19-44) and Northeast (15-44). PMA's Sean Twomey was third and Reggie Eddy Adams was fourth overall.

Sachem dominance

The Pentucket boys track team did more than just sweep Lynnfield 15-50. Nick Murphy finished first at 16:22, and 12 out of the first 13 runners to finish were Sachems.

'Cats win showdown

 

Yuriy Buttrick had the best race of his career, finishing second overall, and newcomer Lee McQueen was third just one second back as the Whittier boys cross country team tripped Greater Lawrence 25-31 in a battle of unbeaten Commonwealth Conference teams. Both the Wildcats (8-0) and Reggies (7-1) beat Shawsheen.

Senior newcomer Josh Walsh nipped freshman teammate Peter Lopata for third place to highlight Pentucket's 20-41 win over North Reading. It was the first time Walsh has been the Sachems' No. 2 man.

Damota recovery

 

Fernando Damota, recovering from a stress fracture, cracked Methuen's top five for the first time this year as the Ramgers improved to 6-2 by sweeping Central Catholic and Haverhill. Cam Leonard and Evan Fagan finished one-two for Central and Jacob St. Onge led Methuen, taking third.

Zain0, Starr go 1-2

 

Londonderry's Chris Zaino and Pelham's Cam Starr finished one-two at the Battle of the Border at Alvirne High School, Zaino finishing the 5K course in 15:47 or eight seconds faster than Starr. Concord was the top team.

Haverhill sophomore Keith May had a personal-best time of 16:37 on the 2.9-mile Winnekenni Park course to take top honors for the first time in a double dual with powerfull Lowell and Lawrence. Lowell took places 2-10 to sweep the meet.

North Andover's Patrick Kitchen took top honors, besting Central Catholic duo Evan Fagan and Cam Leonard, but Andover took the next four spots to beat both teams in a double dual. Devin Connell was the top Warrior.
