Meghan an impact

Meghan O'Connor placed in four events to lead Windham to fifth at the state Division 2 swim meet. The junior came in second in the 100-yard butterfly (1:02.25) and fourth in the 100 backstroke (1:03.31) before helping the 200 medley and 400 freestyle relays finish third and sixth respectively.

Greater Lawrence 89, Minuteman 78

The Greater Lawrence co-ed team beat Minuteman 89-78 for its first win since the 2009-10 season."We are pumped!" gushed coach Jen Dube. Juan Garcia won two events and a relay and Dan Gomez won the diving and was on the winning 200 medley quartet.

Andover best in Division 1 ... again

In commanding fashion, Andover won its fourth straight Division 1 state swimming title and 13th in the last 14 years. Maggie D'Innocenzo won the 200 freestyle and 100 breaststroke while contributing strong legs for a pair of victorious relay efforts.

Lennon, Gauvin shine for Rangers

Methuen took second in the MVC Division 2 Meet. Junior Kelly Lennon won the 200 IM and 500 freestyle and freshman Rachelle Gauvin captured the 100 butterfly and 100 backstroke for the Rangers.

Andover cruises to MVC meet title

As expected, it was all Andover in the MVC Division 1 swim meet. The Golden Warriors outscored runner-up Chelmsford 528-427.

Ashlee Korsberg posted impressive wins 200 and 500 freestyles. Her twin sister Alexa won the 100 butterfly. Deborah Daly took first in the diving. Other winners were Maeve Awiszus (100 backstroke) and Maggie D'Innocenzo  (100 breaststroke).

Senior Day

The seniors ruled the day as Andover swiimming trounced Chelmsford to complete a 12-0 season. Ashlee Korsberg and Maggie D'Innocenzo were double winners and Deborah Daly took toph honors in diving.

Methuen's swim team clinched its second straight winning season with an easy 102-79 victory over Lowell. Jenna Albrecht and Kelly Lennon both won two individual events and were on two winning relays for the Rangers (7-5).

Senior Shelby scores

Haverhill sent 13 graduating swimmers to the blocks on Senior Day and all contributed in a 98-80 victory over Central Catholic. Shelby Duckworth contributed valuable points, placing second in the 200 IM, fourth in 500 free and was part of the third-place 200 freestyle relay team.
