Carroll back with a bang

After missing the first five meets of the season due to injury, Anna Carroll returned to win the 100 butterfly (1:03.77) and swim on the winning 200 medley relay as Andover downed Melrose 87-77.

Donahue delivers

Freshman Kyra Donahue swam the 200 and 500 freestyles for the first time and won both events. She was one of the stars as Methuen-Tewksbury won all but one event in a win over North Andover. Another standout was junior Lauren Barry with a second- and a third-place finish.

Pinkerton sweeps Manchester city meet

Hannah Terry, Nicole Beals and Olivia Neville were double winners as Pinkerton swimming swept the Manchester-area competition at Tuesday's swim meet. The three were also a part of two first-place relay teams, as were Jocelyn Hutchinson and Elizabeth Preble.

Timberlane's Taylor Hogan, Emily Hogan and Michelle Fredericks were each double winners in Friday's sweep of Salem and Merrimack, and the three also teammed with Lindsey Whittaker to win the 200-yard medley relay as well.

Andover dominates North sectionals

CAMBRIDGE — Andover was in its full dominant form, taking four first-place finishes on the way to rolling to the North sectional swim title on Saturday night at MIT.

The Golden Warriors earned victory with 474 points, well ahead of No. 2 Acton-Boxboro (292.5).

Knights win D2

North Andover edged Lowell to win the MVC Division 2 swim meet. Sydney Seo was a quadruple-winner and Chrissy Hogan captured the 50 freestyle. For the Methuen-Tewksbury boys, Patrick Doyle and Matt Blanco both won two individual events.

Warriors roll in MVC Division 1s

Victoria Ambrose won the 200 freestyle (1:59.53) and 500 freestyle (5:20.65), Julia Donahue took the 200 IM (2:10.49) and 100 breaststroke (1:08.93), Sophie Ju won the 100 freestyle (55.78) and they teamed with Grace Alway to win the 200 medley relay and Rachel Landry to take the 400 freestyle relay as Andover rolled to the MVC Division 1 meet title with 853 points.
