Clutch debut

Freshman Cory Foster earned his first varsity win, the deciding match in Pentucket's 3-2 victory over Manchester Essex. It was the first win for the Sachems over the Hornets since 2011, according to coach Chrisian Langlois.

Crowinshield clinches it

After a tough tiebreaker loss in Methuen's first match of the year against Chelmsford, freshman Chris Crowninshield delivered a 6-2, 7-6 (7-4) tiebreak victory to not only earn his first varsity win, but to help the Rangers beat Tyngsborough 3-2 and remain undefeated.

 Austin Prep beat St. Mary's 4-1 in boys tennis as North Reading's Matthew DeRoche of North Reading won at second singles and North Andover's Cole Kamelle was on the winning second doubles team.

Good Fight

The Andover boys faced an uphill battle in its Division 1 North semi-final matchup against top-seeded Lexington. Andrew Imrie won first singles 6-3, 6-2, but that was all the Warriors would get. The Minutemen only have one loss on the season heading into the championship game.

Fresh off a bye

Second-seeded Pentucket looked fresh off its first-round bye, as the Sachems swept No. 7 Winthrop 5-0 to advance to the Division 3 North sem-finals to face No. 11 Weston Tuesday at 3:30 p.m. at Pentucket. Connor Aulsen had a perfect 6-0, 6-0 match in the first singles spot for the Sachems.

After winning both doubles, Andover's Arman Rafiee came back after a first-set loss to win the next two 6-1, 6-2 to clinch the victory for the Warriors. Andover advacnes to the Division 1 North semi-finals where they will play either top-seeded Lexington or No. 9 Newton South who play Saturday.

The North Andover boys tennis team made short work of Burlington in its first round Division 2 North tournament matchup, winning 5-0. Adit Barauh won at first singles 6-2, 6-4, Tyler White took second singles 6-2, 6-3, and Eric Hall won at third singles 6-0, 6-0.
