Andover wins in last second

 Andover edged Central Catholic, 44-42, with a one-second win in the last relay of the afternoon. Freshman Lily Puccia ran away from the pack as the closer on the team.

"The placed was rocking," said head coach Peter Comeau. "I haven't heard the field house that loud in a long time. Central led the relay the entire way and Lily pulled away at the end."

Tewksbury 45, Methuen 41

In only her third career meet, Methuen freshman Eladia Cespedes won and improved her personal best by four inches in the high jump, but the Rangers dropped a tight contest to Tewksbury, 45-41.

Keeping it fresh, man

As part of a 49-37 track victory over Lynnfield, Pentucket freshmen Paige Wesolowski (600) and Brianna Repke (1000) posted times that qualified them for the CAL meet. Despite only four victories, the Sachems placed 17 point scorers out of 22 spots for the team win.

Timberlane finished second in a nine-team meet with Taylor Ordway leading the way. She placed first in the 55 dash, the 600 and was on the winning 4x160 relay.

No ordinary day for Ordway

In a rugged field of 18 schools, Taylor Ordway placed in a pair of events to earn Timberlane a third-place finish in competition at Dartmouth. Ordway was runner-up in the 300 with a time of 43.83 seconds after finishing third in the dash (7.71).

Two thirds

A pair of third-place finishes highlighted area accomplishments in the girls Large School Winter Festival at Reggie Lewis Center.

Andover's Terra Organisciak ran a strong 7.64 in the dash, falling to winner Sima Suon of Lowell by 8/100's of a second. Methuen sophomore Marwah Haq carried her cross country success indoors with a third in the 1,000.
