There were no surprises at Tuesday night's interscolastic Ski Meet at Bradford's Ski Hill. St. John's Prep captured the top spot of the 8-team field in the boy's league, and North Andover capped off its undefeated season by narrowly staying ahead of Andover in the girl's league.

Golden Lannan

Dan Lannan won the slalom and Pinkerton teammate Caleb Eaton placed third at the Division 1 state meet. Timberlane's Travis and Austin Hall placed eighth and ninth, respectively. In the GS, Lannan was third, Eaton sixth and the Halls again took eigth (this time Austin) and ninth.

Brooks unbeaten in ISL

 

The Brooks wrestling team's meet with Middlesex Wednesday was cancelled completely, meaning that the Green and White end the regular season undefeated in the Independent School League at 11-0 and 18-1 overall, its only loss coming to North Andover.

Maria Cavallaro of North Andover nipped her twin sister Rachel to win the girls gradces 6-8 competition at the Bove Memorial ski race. Their younger brother Nolan won the boys grades 6-8 race.

Baldwin keys Andover

 

Bill Baldwin finished seventh overall to lead the Andover boys ski team over Austin Prep in the last regular meet of the season. In the final regular season standings, Andover finished third behind unbeaten St. John's Prep and Masconomet.

Roger Williams College freshman David Welch of Salem, N.H., was named to the all-tournament team and former Pinkerton Academy standout and teammate Collin Crowell won all of his matches at the New England Wrestling Association Championship Sunday.

Led by North Andover resident Joe Cavallaro, who took top honors, St. John's Prep grabbed seven of the top eight places to blister the field in the skiing opener at Bradford yesterday. Jake Tarricone was third overall for Andover.

The Prep soars to title

With three of the top four finishers, St. John's Prep easily won the North Shore Ski League boys Interscholastic meet. Andover's Tom Suglia broke through the flock of Eagles to place third and Adam Risman came in fifth to help the Warriors finish third as a team. North Andover was fifth led by Nate Miceli's seventh-place finish.
