 Chelmsford/Tyngsborough/Billerica used its depth to overcome North Andover, 134-75-133.95, despite another superb performance by Kasey Burke. The reigning MVC champ won the vault (9.6), bars (9.4) and floor (9.5) and scored a 37.4 as the all-around winner.

Dracut edged Haverhill gymnastics but it was a memorable night for Hillie Cailey Simard, who earned a 9.0 for the first time on any event. Very strong beam routine. Liv Melo also shined.

Molly Beeley won the all-around with a 33.05 and carried Methuen (1-3) to its first win. The Rangers tripped Lowell, 129.55-117.85. The Emilys, Loan and Angelari, also came up big.

Meg Kelly won two events and the all-around to pace Central Catholic's gymnasts to a 137.3-136.25 victory over Methuen. Deirdre Donovan was first in the floor and the all-around runner-up for the Raiders.Methuen did defeat Andover, however, to become the MVC small school champs with a 6-2 record.

Positives in defeat

Despite falling to a talented Chelmsford/Tyngsboro/Billerica team, there was still a lot for the Haverhill gymnastics team to be proud of. The Hillies' score of 138.75 was by far their best of the season, Maren Eramo set a new personal-best in the all-around with a 37.25 and others like Reardon Suazo (9.1 on vault) also scored personal bests.
