The Pentucket Regional cheerleaders combined balance and creativity at yesterday's Cape Ann League Championships.

The North Andover cheerleaders impressed last night at the Cape Ann League Championships with their well choreographed routines.

The Swampscott cheerleaders are working with an unusual mix of new and old they hope will propel them to success.

Nearly all of the cheerleaders have been working together since they were little kids, said Katelyn Henry, a co-coach of the team.

Some of them even fly.

A variety of talents help the Bishop Fenwick High School cheerleaders inspire those onfield Crusaders. "A lot of the girls tumble," explained coach Colleen Richards. "Some of the girls like to fly."

The Danvers High School Varsity Football Cheerleaders are a young, dedicated team this year.

The 20-member team has been under coach Sherri Blomster's leadership since last year, when they placed a close fourth in the regional Northeast Conference Cheerleading Competition. They are practicing hard and gearing up for this year's Northeast Conference on Nov. 4.

The 16-member Lancers cheerleading team has placed top five in the state for the past several years, coming in fifth at last year's state championships.

The team is coached by Londonderry High math teacher Michelle Sharp and assistant coach Katie Kimball, a graduate student at the University of New Hampshire. The team's choreographer is Rod Harrelson, who is currently dancing in "Legally Blond" on Broadway.
