KATHIE ANDRUSIN, North Andover Senior, Midfield The Cape Ann League Player of the Year. All-Scholastic. Made Best 60 game. Three-year starter. Twice an all-league selection. Scored eight goals with 15 assists. Huge tourney performer. Preserved sectional semifinal win with late save. "As good as any player I've coached," said 15th-year Knights coach Dianne Freiermuth. Eagle-Tribune All-Star gymnast. One of region's top pole vaulters with personal best of 9-6.

LYNDSAY BEATON, Pentucket, Sr., Center Midfield Beaton was the best player on this year's best local team. The list of achievements are nearly endless: Boston Herald All-Scholastic, Mass. Best of 60, two-time All-Cape Ann League, and now two-time Daily News All-Star. The standout, play-making, center-midfielder had eight goals and 16 assists | all while leading the Sachems to their best regular season record in school history (12-3-4). The Sachems then defeated Bishop Fenwick 1-0 in overtime at home for only their second tournament victory ever. Although a senior, Beaton's athletic endeavors won't end with the fall season; she captains both the basketball team in the winter and the lacrosse team in the spring. Last year the basketball team made it to the Division 3 state semifinals. Quite well-rounded, Beaton boasts a 3.4 GPA which ranks in the top 15 percent of her class, and she is the school's student council president. Her role model might sound familiar, her brother Tommy, a three-sport Daily News player of the year in the 2004-2005 seasons. The three-year varsity starter hopes to play both field hockey and lacrosse in college.

STEPHANIE CHAISSON, Methuen Senior, Forward Four-year letterman. Quad-captain. Team MVP. Team leader with 16 goals and 8 assists. Led team in scoring as junior. Netted 32 career goals. Played much of the season unknowingly with mononucleosis. "Quality player, quality kid," said coach Karen McLaughlin. National Honor Society treasurer. Ranked in top 15 percent of her class. Would like to play in the NE-10. Captain-elect in softball.

**TATUM DYER, Salem Senior, Midfield, First-team All-Class L. Salem's co-MVP. Named to Twin State team. Salem's Fall Scholar-Athlete. Played on both ends on all special teams. "A wicked playmaker," said Salem coach Carol Merchant. Plays year-round. Chalked up six assists., including on game-winner in state title game. Dove for save to preserve playoff shutout with Pinkerton. National Honor Society. Earned scholarship to Division 1 American University.

Three-year starter. Led region with 31 goals this year. Added 13 assists. "I haven't coached anyone who could score like her," said 15th-year coach Dianne Freiermuth. Tri-captain. Ranked 28th in a class of 355. Class vice-president. Has sights set on prestigious Johns Hopkins.

NICOLE GAGNON, Andover, Senior, Defense All-Scholastic. Two-time all-conference choice. Best 60 game selection. Tri-captain. Team MVP. Perfect 4 for 4 on penalty strokes. Finished with five goals and five assists. Team defensive MVP as junior. Made tremendous improvement since playing JV as a sophomore. Polished player. "The leader of our defense," said coach Maureen Noone. Spent two years in Futures program. Interested in Division 2 power UMass Lowell.

SARAH GALLIGAN, Pentucket, Sr., Forward/Midfield First Daily News all-star selection in field hockey ... Co-Daily News player of the year in lacrosse last spring ... Along with Beaton, only other Sachem on the Cape Ann League all-league team ... Scored seven goals and had eight assists ... Secretary of the senior class ... A lacrosse captain for the Sachems, she hopes to continue playing that sport in college.

HANNAH GREENOUGH, Ipswich, Sr., Left wing Two-time Cape Ann League All-Star ... Was chosen as The Salem News' Player of the Year in 2005 ... Had a huge year offensively with 18 goals and 20 assists ... Set Ipswich High record for most goals in a career ... Had two goals and an assist in Tigers' first round tournament victory over Wayland ... Might continue playing field hockey in college ... Has a 4.13 GPA ... Ranked eighth in her senior class.

CATHERINE GROSS, Andover, Junior, Midfield All-MVC. League all-star as a sophomore. Three-year starter. Plays speed game. Dangerous in the transition. Scored 10 goals. The defensive flyer on penalty corners. Twice marked boys with favorable results. "Unbelievably quick," said coach Maureen Noone. Scored 32 goals with 16 assists in lacrosse last spring. Scored 18 times as a freshman. Her older sister Briana was a field hockey and lacrosse captain at Andover.

ANNIE HANSBURY, Timberlane Senior, Midfield Four-year starter. Owls' co-MVP. Repeats on All-Class L first team. Powerful hitter. Went 5 for 5 on penalty strokes for the 15-1-1 Class L runners-up. "She's an exceptional one-on-one player," said coach Mim Ryan. Finished with eight goals and three assists. Was immense in regular-season tie with Salem, the only blemish on the Blue Devils' season. Will play at NCAA Division 2 runner-up UMass Lowell. Two-year softball starter.

KATIE HATHAWAY, Amesbury, Sr., Center Midfield A four-year starter on varsity, earns her first nod on the Daily News team ... A Daily News basketball and softball selection last year ... JILL LUKEGORD, Gloucester Sr.

CAROLYN MALLOY, Salem Senior, Forward Carolyn Malloy can show off plenty of sparkling individual numbers in summing up her Salem High field hockey career. Why not just focus on the team instead? All our field hockey MVP knows is winning, to the tune of a 61-5-2 record in four years as a Blue Devils starter. "She's started in four straight state title games, winning (the last) three," said Salem coach Carol Merchant. A three-time first-team All-Class L selection, Malloy earns her second trip to The Eagle-Tribune's All-Star team. Clearly, the Windham resident went out with a bang, showing off her talents to all three area opponents in the tourney run. Malloy opened with a hat-trick against Londonderry in the quarters, added a goal and an assist in the semifinals with Pinkerton, then finished the job with two goals in the finals with previously unbeaten Timberlane. "She was a game-changer, a great athlete with a natural gift," said Merchant. "She knows where the goal is." Malloy finished the year with 30 goals and 10 assists. She ends her storied career with 80 total goals. She will head to Northeastern to play on a field hockey scholarship in the fall. "We've had a great run with her, and it's time for her to move on," said Merchant. "She absolutely belongs at Northeastern."

ALISON McCARTHY, North Andover Senior, Goalie All-leaguer. Best 60 Game selection. Played every minute in all 23 games for the 22-1 sectional finalists. Allowed only three regular-season goals. Finished with 17 shutouts. Excellent on the angles. Dominates in traffic. "Has a coach's instinct in her," said coach Dianne Freiermuth. "She has the perfect goalie's mentality." Fleet center fielder for softball state finalists. Will play field hockey in college. UMass Lowell leads her short list.

SARAH PETERSON, Triton, Sr., Defender A co-captain and the most-improved player on the Vikings this season ... Earns her first Daily News field hockey selection ... DEVAN SHEA, Pinkerton Junior, Midfield First-team All-Class L. Three-year starter. Captain-elect. The shooter on offensive corners. Flyer on defensive corners. Finished with three goals and six assists. "She was the quarterback of the team," said coach Denise Rioux. Has already been contacted by Division 1 schools like UMass and Princeton. Scored 13 goals for lacrosse team last spring and ran on third-place 4x400 relay team last winter at Class L meet.

CHELSEA SICKEL, Timberlane Senior, Midfield Proudly carries on family tradition. Repeat Eagle-Tribune All-Star. Four-year starter. First-team All-Class L. Owls' co-MVP. Quad-captain. Selected to All-Northeast team. Scored four goals with nine assists. "One of the better players I've had," said Mim Ryan, who has been in coaching for 27 years. Ranked in top 10 of her class. She and her twin sister signed with Division 1 Kent State. Their older sisters starred at Iowa and Providence.

CARLY SILVERMAN, Ipswich, Sr., Goalie The 17-year-old Silverman had a senior season she'll never forget. Among her many highlights were leading the Tigers to an unbeaten regular season (14-0-5), capturing the Cape Ann League Small championship, earning the No. 3 seed in the Division 2 North state tournament, and helping her team reach the playoff semifinals before falling. Along the way, Silverman set an Ipswich record with 11 shutouts this past season, including a 2-0 decision over Wakefield in the Division 2 North quarterfinals. The team captain and Cape Ann League all-star, who is also a standout in the classroom (ranked 21st in her senior class and holding a 4.0 grade point average), is applying to Emerson College, Boston University and Drexel. She plans to major in film production. Silverman said her biggest influence is her sister, Jillian. "She broke so many (Ipswich High) records in track and field, and always inspires me to try my hardest."

TORI SNOW, Marblehead, Jr., Inner Forward Voted a team captain for the Magicians next season ... Named Marblehead's Best Offensive Player ... Chosen as a Northeastern Conference all-star ... Scored five goals and handed out nine assists this past season ... Had her "most aggressive game" in Magicians' first round playoff game vs. Triton ...
