Pinkerton's boys soccer team knocked off No. 2 seed Alvirne 2-1 in the Division 1 quarterfinals to advance to next Wednesday's semifinals against Hanover at Exeter. Alex Ebner had a goal and an assist for the Astros (12-5-1) and Kyle Hicks also scored.
"I can't say enough about this group of kids," said coach Kerry Boles. "They have faced adversity all season long but they still seem to find a way to win."
