WINDHAM – In a flash, Pelham High witnessed first-hand the explosiveness that is Windham High football.

Kurtis Jolicoeur took a first-play swing pass and rumbled 90 yards to open the game. The Jags opened things up with Brendan McInnis' 26-yarder to Joey Frake with 6:37 left in the first quarter, one of his three TD passes on the day.

The tone had been set and Windham rolled on, building a 28-0 lead and holding on to finish off the 28-14 Homecoming victory over a feisty bunch of young Pythons.

Mission accomplished for the 6-0 Jags, who move on to next week's road date at Milford with home field in the playoffs all but assured.

Looking back at August, the goal wasn't to be 6-0, it was to be (11-0) in late November,” said Jolicoeur, the rugged fullback who put up 150 yards on eight carries and another 106 on a pair of catches.

We have to keep working and stick to business. We have to get better.”

Jolicoeur scored twice on the day and came up inches short on a 79-yard burst up the gut in the first quarter.

I thought for sure I was in, but I guess they got me at the 1,” said Joliceour, whose dash set up Anthony Gallo's 27-yard field goal.

The senior end/kicker had a nice day on his own with three catches for 67 yards.

McInnis continued to carve up Division 2 defenses, completing 10 of 15 passes for 231 yards and the three scores. The senior has now hit on 48 of 76 passes for 901 yards and 13 TDs for the year.

Scoring on the first play, and Brendan playing well coming up with big plays, that's what we do,” said Windham coach Bill Raycraft. “The second half we kind of lost that killer instinct. We have to make sure we stick with what we do best.”

The Pythons made it tough on the hosts after the first barrage.

That's the best team in the division, and we just can't make those young mistakes against a team like that,” said coach Ryan Clark. “We played pretty well after that, and I think if we play like that, we can play with anyone."

Nick Johnson ran for one short TD, and QB Trevor Gagnon hit Joey Halpin on a 26-yard connection for the other.

Both Johnson (12 carries, 58 yards) and Dylan Ragonese (15-61) ran hard for the 2-4 Pythons.

The offensive line, which starts three freshmen, really played well for us today and the older backs went out of their way to recognize that after the game,” said Clark. “That was great to see.”
