Windham senior Lauren Sullivan was .01 seconds away from winning at the Division 2 state ski meet.

"And she was really bummed out," Windham coach Kellie Steward said. "Slalom is her event. So she came into this feeling down but she knew she had nothing to lose."

Sullivan won the slalom (1:22.25) and took fourth in the giant slalom (1:15.67) at the New Hampshire Meet of Champions as she earned the No. 1 overall girls New Hampshire seed at the New England Regional High Championships, which will be held this weekend at Cannon Mountain.

"She was all business today," Steward said.

The giant slalom will be Saturday and the slalom on Sunday at New Englands.

"It was just amazing to watch her ski," Steward said. "The courses were tough. There were a ton of DFA's today."

"She's so humble and she's pleased and she just blew that course away," Steward added about Sullivan.

Pinkerton's Nicole Gonya also had a nice day, placing second in the slalom (1:23.25).

Pinkerton's Emma Bennett took 34th place in both the slalom (1:36.47) and giant slalom (1:22.12).

As for the boys Meet of Champions, Pelham's David Boardman was the top local finisher in the slalom (1:20.44), placing 13th.

Pinketon's Caleb Eaton was the top-local finisher for the giant slalom (1:16.21), placing 15th.
