NORTH ANDOVER — Sophomore catcher Gabi Hillner of Haverhill and the Brooks softball team took out its frustration on St. Mark's Wednesday afternoon.

Burdened by low numbers and plagued by injuries in the early part of the season, Brooks fell to four straight defeats. But, with Hillner leading the way, Brooks erupted for a 14-2 romp Wednesday.

Batting third in the batting order, Hillner was 3 for 3 with two home runs and five RBIs and scored three times.

And Hillner wasn't the only Brooks hitter who was hot Wednesday. Leadoff batter Bridget Cifuni of georgetown and No. 2 batter Molly Carabatsos of North Andover were both 3 for 4 and scored three runs and Grace Bilodeau and Caroline Saef joined them with three hits in four at-bats.

Overall, Brooks (1-4) banged out 18 hits and scored in all six inning it came to the plate.

Senior pitcher Cassandra Hunt of Andover joined in the fun by throwing a two-hitter, striking out 10, and helping her own cause with two RBIs.
