ANDOVER — It got close down the stretch, but Tewksbury-Methuen held on to beat Andover 2-1 Saturday afternoon.
Kelly Golini scored twice for Methuen, and goalie Kaia Hollingsworth had 28 saves in the victory.
"I think they played fantastic," said Tewksbury-Methuen head coach Sarah Oteri. "They executed everything we asked them to. They were tired down the stretch, but they continued fight and just do everything we asked."
Andover's Krystal Brighton cut the lead in half with 4:50 left to go in the third when she slid the puck past Hollingsworth in front of the net. The Warriors pulled goalie Kyra Morissette with a minute to go, but were unable to score.
Golini opened the scoring midway through the first when she put one past Morissette. She capped off her fine day when she finished top shelf at the end of the second period.
While Golini provided the offense, Hollingsworth was a brick wall in net.
"She made huge saves for us today," said Oteri. "When she makes those saves it helps our players to make plays offenseively."
