LYNN — Georgetown wasted no time, scoring all 15 of its points in the first quarter, and the Royals stood behind strong defense to beat Lynn Tech 15-0 and improve to an undefeated 3-0 on the young season.
Hunter Lane started the scoring with a 33-yard punt return, which was followed by an 86-yard touchdown pass from quarterbcak Tommy Long to James Sherman.
The story in this one however was on the defensive side of the ball for Georgetown, as the Royals earned their second shutout of the year. Dan Levelle, Cam Barnard and Zach Beauvais all were credited to playing well on defense.
The Royals also got a Ryan Allen-esque effort from kicker James Shermon, who had two punts that landed inside the five-yard-line.
Georgetown will try to make it four in a row at Pembroke Saturday. Game time as of now is 1 p.m., but that time may change due to SAT's.
