Clohisy a quad winner

Peter Clohisy had himself a day for Pentucket track. He had four first-place finishes, taking gold in the long jump (19-4), 400 hurdles (59.14), 100 hurdles (16.13) and the triple jump (39-11). The triple jump was a personal best. Colin Costa also set a personal best in the 2-mile (10:45.76), shatting his previous best by 27 seconds.

North Andover defeated Ipswich to open its season with a victory. Sophomore Kelcey Dion scored four goals, while junior Ali Ferullo and sophomore Lexi Swartz chipped in three apiece. Senior Bella Morton and freshman Priscilla Murray split time in goal, making four saves each.

The Pentucket girls basketball team thought they'd go the whole season without seeing Emily Riley on the court after she tore her ACL early last summer. But the senior has rehabbed hard, and last night scored a season-high 8 points in her third game back to help the Sachems to a 69-30 win over Ipswich. Better yet, she did it on Senior Night.

State qualifers

The Triton girls swimming and diving team saw several outstanding performances in Monday's 61-33 win over Ipswich, as the Vikings compiled six state qualifying times and five more sectional qualifiers. University of Minnesota commit Maggie Summit led the way, winning both the 100 and 200 freestyles, and Liz Sutton also won two individual events, taking the 500 free and 100 breaststroke.
