Phillips Andover beat Exeter 122-64 to polish off its fourth straight unbeaten regular season (25 straight wins).   This afternoon, the Andover Boys’ Swimming and Diving Team faced the challenge of Exeter.  Andover entered the meet with a distinct advantage:  the squad is at the midpoint in its rest preparing for Easterns while Exeter has yet to begin its rest preparing for New Englands.  This gave the Andover swimmers a bit of an edge towards the end of races and led to a convincing win.     The meet began with Tim Wynter ’14, Justin Wang ’13, Alex Li ’15, and rookie Scott Simpson ’14 winning the 200 Medley Relay in 1:39.87 Captain Joe Faller ’14 nearly even-split the 200 Freestyle and won in 1:43.88 with Travis Bouscaren ’14 in second in 1:48.35.

CAMBRIDGE — Central Catholic senior David Kitchen made no attempt to hide his excitement last night.

“This was definitely the best performance of my high school career!” he said. “I am psyched.”

Led by James Baiguy and Connor Hopkins, Windham came in third in state Division 2 swimming competition. Baiguy placed sixth in the 200 IM and 100 breaststroke while Hopkins was fourth in the 50 freestyle and 100 backstroke. Both were also key contributors in the 200 freestyle relay that came in second as well as the third-place 200 medley relay.

Behind freestyle domination from Eric Zhao, Andover rolled to a convincing victory in the MVC league meet yesterday.

The Golden Warriors piled up 378 points, outdistancing runner-up Chelmsford (305) and third-place Central Catholic (254).

North Andover had plenty of track highlights over the weekend. At Saturday's State Coaches Invitationals, Kyle Quinn ran a school record 1:25.31 to place third in the 600 meters. Patrick Irwin took third with a personal best 6-2 in the high jump. At Sunday's Elite Meet, the 4x800 team of Dan Marino, Chris Dalke, Jacob Johns and Zach Frahlich ran a school record 8:19.26.

Eric Zhao won the 200 freestyle (2:07.04) and 100 freestyle (49.50) and swam on the winning 200 freestyle relay as Andover improved to 9-0 with a 95-89.

Nick Roy won the 100 butterfly (1:00.13) and 100 backstroke (1:03.57) and also helped Haverhill's 200 medley relay to victory (1:52.34). The Hillies won 85.5-73.5 over North Andover in boys swimming. 

Eric Zhao won the 100 and 200 freestyles and anchored impressive relay victories, helping Andover swimming remain unbeaten while dealing Chelmsford its first MVC loss, 98-83.

  Timberlane senior Hannah Kimball finished 5th in the girls mile championship race at the Yale Interscholastic Track Classic at Yale University, running a fine 5:11.57.   

Andover's swim team remained unbeaten (5-0) by shaving BC High, 95-89. Eric Zhao, Eric Shi and Aaron Wu were all individual winners and instrumental on three relay winners.
