Haverhill's Max Gould was the medalist at Merrimack Valley Golf Club with a 4-over par round of 38, lifting the Hillies to a 14.5-5.5 win over Methuen.

Kerri Finneran scored a goal and assisted on three others and Liz Medford scored twice as Central Catholic field hockey downed Methuen 5-0.

With the game scoreless at halftime, Courtnee Pickles scored three of Methuen's seven second-half goals on the way to beating Lowell 7-0. The Ranger defense didn't allow a shot on goal.

Haverhill bounced back after a season-opening loss with a 3-0 MVC victory over Methuen. Gabby Burdier had 10 kills while Emme Cerasuolo and Mia Ferrer Valdez both had 17 assists.

Methuen field hockey recovered from a two-goal haftime deficit for a 3-2 victory at Lowell. Charlotte Putnam tallied a pair of goals and also assisted on Abbie Frost's game-tying goal. Alex Tardugno had 15 saves while Vanessa Nugent and Morelin Jaquez led the second-half defensive effort.

Methuen trailed 15-3 in the first set, rallied to take the set 25-22 and rolled the rest of the way for a 3-0 win over Beverly. Carolina Rodriguez led the Rangers in service points (14) and digs (22) and Sam Driend added 13 kills.

Othmane Elhayani tallied the game winning goal, assisted by Anthony Henrick, as Methuen opened its season by besting Dracut 1-0. Dylan Gavin made six saves for the win. 

Riley O’Hearn and Courtnee Pickles each scored a goal and assisted on another as Methuen downed Dracut 2-0. Sam Pfeil had five saves for the shutout.

Brooke Tardugno scored one goal, added two assists and even made a save in goal to lead Methuen to a season-opening 6-0 win over Lawrence. Hailey Smart added a goal and an assist for the winners.

Noah Farland was the medalist with a 34, winning at No. 1 (4-and-3) to lead Andover to a 19-1 season-opening win over Methuen. Brendan Carroll was next best for the Golden Warriors with a 38. Ryan McKinnon led Methuen, tying at No. 2 with a 42.
