ROCHESTER, N.H. | The 2007 season already has been a roller-coaster ride for Timberlane.

The Owls, who were punished, 48-8, in their opener last week vs. Division 1 Salem, made their Division 2 debut a pleasant one by hammering Spaulding (0-2, 0-1 Division 2), 42-0.

Amy Green scored one minute into the second half to break a scoreless tie and help pace Timberlane to a 3-0 win over Concord. Sammi Jo Saltalamacchia and Kristen Norton also scored for the Owls, who got a strong effort from goalie Courtney Lins (6 saves).

SALEM, N.H. | The fun continued for Salem in the second half of its season opener against Timberlane last night, but senior Nick Cavallo's enjoyment of the Blue Devils' 48-8 romp over Timberlane was definitely tempered.

Sometimes, athletes are forced to grow up quicker than they might like.

Such is life with both the Timberlane Regional and Pelham High football teams.

At Pelham, a talented senior class, which anchored a pair of playoff trips and one appearance in the Division 5 title game, has moved on. That leaves the pressure squarely on the shoulders of junior halfback Bruce Vieira.
