Emily Hood scored a season-high three goals, two on breakaways, leading No. 5 Pinkerton to a 4-2 victory over Merrimack in the Division 1 first round. Hannah Sippel added the other goal for the Astros, who next host No. 13 Dover in the Division 1 quarterfinals on Sunday (2 p.m.)

Maddie Cote scored in the first half and Hannah Deschene made a fantastic save in the second half as Pelham defeated Oyster River in the Division 2 girls soccer first round. The Pythons will now play at Pembroke Sunday at 2 p.m.

Madison Gosse scored a whopping seven goals and Whittier girls soccer drubbed KIPP, 11-0.

Methuen girls soccer and Billerica are both 8-3-4 after the Rangers took down the Indians, 2-0. Courtnee Pickles and Kiera Fitzpatrick scored and Sam Pfeil stopped all four BMHS shots. 

Timberlane girls soccer blanked Goffstown, 5-0, in the regular-season finale. Alida Bates scored and had a brilliant all-around game. The Keogh twins each scored twice and Arden Ferrari-Henry had the shutout for the 13-3 Owls. The Owls have their fingers crossed that standout Leah Morrier will be healthy for the playoffs.

Sophomore Isabella Vena scored the first three goals of her varsity career as Central Catholic girls soccer rolled past Lowell 6-0. Adrianna Marinello added two goals and Zarina Pinto scored once.

Lughano Nyondo  scored twice, giving her 10 goals on the year, and added two assists as Brooks blanked St. George's 5-0 in soccer.

Ella Roe scored both goals in the first half as North Andover held off Chelmsford, 2-1.

Samantha Klimas scored in the first half and Paige Pefine (10 saves) made it stand up as North Andover soccer shaded Danvers, 1-0. Ainsley Chittick anchored the defense while Maddie Jackson shined in the midfield.

Pinkerton girls soccer beat 13-0 BG on a second-half goal by Maddie Connors off a Sofia Crnilovic corner kick. Libby Williams (5 saves) with the shutout. Caitlin Seleny contributed a clutch goal-line save.
