Satisfying Senior Night

A tough season hasn't taken the fight out of Central Catholic's lacrosse team, rising up on Senior Night for a 9-6 defeat of Tewksbury. Defenseman Ryan Forgione had 13 ground balls and Tim Bamford won 13 of 18 faceoffs in the Raider victory.

Warrior rally stopped

Masconomet goalie Tighe Van Lentenmade a superb save with under a minute left to play, crushing Andover's comeback effort and preserving the Chieftains' 10-9 victory. Superb team defense shut out Masco over the final eight minutes of play while Connor Gaffney and Nick Price (two goals and an assist each) sliced a 10-7 deficit to one, but the Warriors just couldn't get any closer.

Sweet revenge for Astros

With 28 seconds left in regulation, Conor McCarthy scored an unassisted goal to give Pinkerton an 8-7 victory over defending Division 1 state champion Bishop Guertin 8-7. BG knocked the Astros out of the toruney last season. Pearce Connel added 15 key saves for the winners.

Fantastic at faceoffs

Brett Pittera (goal and two assists) turned almost every faceoff into a Salem possession, winning all but one of the two dozen he had, as the Blue Devils defeated Manchester Memorial, 16-7. Nick Harbilas exploded for six goals and an assist in the win.
