Central Catholic whipped Chelmsford 111-34 as Ryan Doherty had a season-best throw in the shot put (52-1/2) and Dan WIllson had winning season-bests in the long jump (20-8) and 100 (11.5) Alex Dehullu swept the hurdles and also won the high jump.

Shahib Blount broke the school record in the 400 hurdles (62.3) and also won the 400 to spark Whittier Tech to a 75-69 victory over Shawsheen.

The Pentucket boys and girls combined to win the six-team Henry Sheldon Classic. Top efforts included winners Cooper Carifio (100), Ian Mitchell (200), Ali Attenasio (10-0 pole vault) and triple winner McKenna Kilian (400, high jump, 4x00).

HAVERHILL — Central Catholic senior David Veilleaux is thrilled with teammate Ryan Doherty’s Eagle-Tribune All-Star accomplishments. But that doesn’t mean he doesn’t enjoy a victory.

John Braga won four events — 110 hurdles (16.5), long jump (19-1.5), high jump (5-5) and 200 (24.0) — to lead North Reading boys 91-54 over Amesbury. 

Scott Bonneau won the long jump (18-4.5), 4x100 and  200 24.7 as Whittier topped Lynn Tech 78-44.

Andover sophomore Hunza Naveed ran the fastest 400 in the MVC so far this season with a 50.5 as the Warriors dropped a 101-44 decision to Lowell.

Hector Payano won the long jump (20-5.5), triple jump (40-6), 200 (23.02) and 100 (11.35) to lead Greater Lawrence boys track 83-64 over Whittier.

Triple winner Alex Dehullu (110 and 400 hurdles, high jump) paced Central Catholic to a 82-63 win over North Andover. Raider throwers Ryan Doherty (javelin winner, second shot) and David Veillleux (won shot, second discus) were double-placers wnad Jeremy Zannini placed in three events.

Left without his flashy pink javelin because of a weigh-in issue prior to the meet, Andover's Mark Zavrl was forced to borrow a javelin from a competitor from Lowell yesterday.

It could have thrown him off, but the Red Raider javelin worked just fine for the Golden Warrio.
