Record day for Foote

Amanda Foote ran a blazing school-record 63.5 in 400 hurdles to help North Andover sweep previously-undefeated Ipswich (78 1/2-66 1/2) and Amesbury (107-37).

Foote, whose time was hand-timed, appears on the verge of breaking the area's official all-time mark of 63.59 run by Haverhill's Rebecca Stabile last season.

Kent rises to occasion

Central Catholic needed a second-place finish in the 200 to wrap up its meet against Andover and clinch the MVC championship, and Leanne Kent came through big-time. Kent shattered her personal-best time by one second to take the runner-up spot in the 74-71 victory. Competing in rugged doubles, Lanie Jowett (first in 2-mile and second in mile) and Nicolette Pelrine (winning mile and 800) scored valuable points for the Raiders.
