The Manchester Essex boys basketball team found out that things could've been different this year, if the Hornets just could've stayed healthy.
Back at full strength for the first time in six games, Manchester Essex routed Triton, 73-55. The win boosted the Hornets record to just 5-12, but nevertheless head coach Bill Cahill is happy to have his whole team back.
"You can't control injuries," said Cahill. "But it's nice for the kids psyche that we have everyone back. The kids are playing hard and we want to end this season on a positive note."
The backcourt duo of seniors James Settipane and Marty Nally, scored 20 and 15 points respectively in their first game back from injuries. Freshman Joe Mussachia, who has been steady all season, pumped in a game-high 21 points and center Brian Ciccone added seven points and nine rebounds for Manchester Essex, which was able to extend an eight-point halftime lead (38-30).
