Methuen was truly a runner-up at the Wakefield Tournament. Not only did the Rangers finish second to Catholic Memorial, but they had four wrestlers take runner-up places.

The only champion for the Rangers was impressive freshman Travis Manick, who grabbed a 5-2 decision in the finals for the title at 160 pounds.

Finishing second for the Rangers were Billy Wehring (126), Dan Aziz (170), Darius Franklin (182) and Saul Cabrera (195). Overall,  Methuen showed good depth by placing in 12 of 14 weight classes.

For Georgetown, Constantine Galanis had a terrific day. Not only did he win the 152-pound weight class at Wakefield, winning 5-1 in the finals, but he broke the school record for career wins with his 128th victory. That broke the mark previously held by Dean Nemeroff.
