DERRY — Sophomore quarterback Aiden Goujon had a monster game, throwing for 353 yards and four touchdowns, but Pinkerton fell to Goffstown 37-33 on Friday night.
Pinkerton trailed 28-21 at halftime and then fell behind by 10 after a Goffstown field goal, but then Ty Hicks came back with a 69-yard rushing touchdown to make it a one possession game.
Then, after Pinkerton stopped Goffstown on 4th down at its own two yard line, the Astros drove down the field and got a 22-yard touchdown catch by Kayden Baillargeon from Goujon to pull ahead 33-31.
Pinkerton had another chance to extend their lead, but fumbled the ball away on the goal line. Goffstown capitalized shortly after with a 24-yard touchdown pass with 1:12 remaining in the game to retake the lead, and then sealed the win with an interception in the end zone.
Pinkerton uncharacteristically struggled in the run game, tallying only one yard rushing at halftime. The Astros (1-1) host Salem on Friday.
