Brendan Walsh pitched six strong innings to improve to 1-2 on the season in Central Catholic's 8-3 win over Billerica. Marc Crowley cracked a two-run homer in the first to set the tone for the Raiders, and Tim Wheeler was a perfect 3 for 3 at the plate.

Walsh (5 Ks, 0 runs) was the beneficiary of a three-pitch inning in the fourth thanks to some tremendous defense from his teammates. First, catcher Matt Pelletier nabbed a difficult foul pop behind the plate. Third baseman Zak Adamopoulos follwed that up with a nifty diving grab in front of the Central dugout. Last but not least, offensive hero Crowley made a huge over-the-shoulder, Willie Mays-esque catch in a full sprint in center.
