Pelham boys tennis advanced to the finals for the first time in program history and to do it the Pythons slayed Hanover, which had won the last two Class I titles and 6 of the last 7.
But the Pythons made a statement with their top singles players as Jared Taylor, Matt Smith and Ryan Fyfe rolled at Nos. 1-3. Matt Mercier won a tough one at No. 6 then Taylor-Smith and Fyfe-Gabe Ramos were victorious at first and third doubles, respectively.
No. 1 Pelham, 13-2, will play at Concord vs. No. 2 Bedford on the title on Tuesday.
The Pythons were no match for Bedford in the regular season, falling 9-0.
