Seven weeks ago, Pelham boys tennis was 1-2 and coming off a 9-0 shellacking to Bedford.
But the Pythons turned it around big-time and nearly won the Class I championship. Against that same Bedford squad which had humiliated them in mid-April, the Pythons put up a game fight before falling 5-4 in the title match.
Lisa Terwilliger's team had a tough time of it in singles, with only Matt Mercier prevailing. He took an 8-4 decision at No. 5.
The doubles, though, brought their A games, sweeping all three matches.
