Last season: 10-7-4

Key players: Emma O'Dell, sr.; Michelle Bashaw, sr.; Sarah Peterson, sr.; Courtney Murphy, sr.; Krista Landry, sr.; Amanda DesJardins, sr.; Anna Sczepanski, sr.; Ashley Pierce, sr.; Tarra Wallace, sr.

Impact newcomers: Mac Scanlon, so.; Amanda Atherton, jr., Courtney Marshall, jr.; Kelsey Rock, so.; Theresa Olson, jr.

Strengths: Leadership. Andersen was the Cape Ann League Coach of the Year in 2005, and captains O'Dell and Peterson have been varsity standouts since their sophomore seasons.

Concerns: Underclassmen. The Vikings have been dealt in an unfortunate hand of late. No freshmen were able to participate in 2006 due to budget constraints and few came out last season due to increased users fees.

First game: Sept. 5 vs. North Andover (3:45 p.m., Triton Regional High)

Coach's outlook: "It's hard to know how we'll do. It could potentially be a battle for us to compete at the same level of the last couple years. That's the goal. It's not far-fetched to think we'll return to the tournament."
