Odds and ends: Coach Peter Kitsos plans to play as many as five freshmen. ... Last year was the Rangers' second straight seven-win season. ... Methuen is eyeing its first tourney berth since 2000. ... Dave Gordon, Methuen's head coach from 2003-05, is Kitsos' assistant coach.

Coach Peter Kitsos (2nd year, 7-9-1): "We are very young. But we have very strong freshman and sophomore classes. Kim Marino should emerge as one of our top players. Rachel Condon and Megan Sessa will emerge to solidify our defense. My main concern is to find a keeper. I believe we found one in Rebecca Caterino. She is very quick and aware and she is not afraid of any situations."
