Rachel Mattison placed third in the all-around at the MVC/DCL meet, at Acton-Boxboro. The Andover High senior was also honored as the Senior Gymnast of the Night.
Andover placed second in the league meet, scoring 141.3 points, which was 2.05 off the first place pace of Chelmsford. Methuen finished fourth with 134.75 points.
Mattison, who is considering gymnastics at either Ithaca or Springfield, placed first on the bars (9.5) and third in each the vault (9.05) and floor (9.2). Teammate Jenny Coneeny finished first on the beam and Emily Lowenstein placed sixth in the same event. Coneeny finished sixth in the all-around.
"It was amazing to get that award but it was the team that pulled together for this night," said Mattison.
Methuen's Victoria Daigle finished tied for fifth (9.1).
