Howard shines at home meet

Despite Sanborn's fifth place finish at ithe Milford meet, Indian field star Shaun Howard earned first place in both the discus (118-3) and Javelin (155-7).  Josh Childs finished second in the Long jump (18-2) and third in the high jump (5-8).

Windham rallies for third win of season

Despite struggling Adam Dolan made a tough bare-handed play on third-inning grounder that kept Souhegan from further damage. Steven Dastous scorched a triple to drive in the final two runs in a three-run third which proved to be the game-winning runs. Sophomore Jeff Peterson recorded a game-ending strikeout with the tying run on third to earn his first varsity victory.

In a quality high school hockey game, Windham-Pelham repelled Souhegan time and again to grab a hard-earned 6-4 victory. Timely defense from Steven Beck and Steven Barton did the trick in the win.

Thompson, Pinkerton roll

Courtney Thompson won the beam (9.2), floor exercise (8.4) and all-around (34.9) and was second in the bar and vault as Pinkerton scored 134 points to best Londonderry (123.75) and Souhegan 111.55. The Lancers' Cari O'Shea won the vault.

Jesse Vaiknoras held the Pelham school record for lowest round of golf, that is until yesterday when his brother Jake Vaiknoras matched his 34 to equal the standard. Windham, who won the tri-match over the Pythons and Souhegan, was led by co-medalist Connor Greenleaf (34).

Meghan things happen

The combination of Melissa Cino and Meghan Gosselin was effective for a Windham volleyball team that came back from a one-game deficit to roll past Souhegan. Cino (31 assists, five digs and two aces) was a "rock star" according to head coach Jill Bartlett due to her infectious hustle and effective passing, especially to Gosselin (13 kills and five aces) to drive the offense.
