Warriors bounce back

Andover's field hockey team experienced a couple of firsts in its Division 1 North semifinal matchup with Weston.

Over the course of yesterday's game, the Golden Warriors trailed. And Weston doubled Andover's goals allowed total.

A little bit Moore

Point guard Alex Moore was the star of the day as Pentucket whipped Weston, 52-34, in the quarterfinals of the Division 3 North tourney. The sophomore contributed 6 points, 10 rebounds and 3 assists. Leigh McNamara and Sarah Higgins set the tone with their defense. Coley Viselli led all scorers with 17 points and four 3-pointers. In the semis the Sachems will play the winner of tonight's St. Mary's-Triton game.

Royals fall to Weston in overtime

LYNN — Twelve games, that’s how long it had been since second-seeded Georgetown Royals had last tasted defeat — a 10-0-2 streak that included wins over six tournament teams. But the Royals’ season came crashing to a halt in the Division 3 North semifinals when Emma Dagres comfortably tucked home a left-footed shot, her second goal of the game, under Jamie Block just two minutes into the second overtime.

Finishing strong

After upsetting Methuen over the weekend, the Haverhill hockey team continued to play well, tying Weston 2-2. Brad McGovern scored in the first period before hurting his shoulder and missing the third period and Ernie Lupi scored the equalizer in he third period. Sophomore Gray Marchese had 24 saves for the Hillies.

Andover eliminated
