Season-ending roll

 

Greater Lawrence's softball team won its fifth straight game, 18-2, to end its season on a roll. Jassmelyn DeLeon was 2 for 3 with four RBIs andf two runs scored for the Reggies (8-12) and freshman Escarlin Reynoso was 3 for 4 with two runs scored.

Reggies on rise

Freshman Escarlin Reynoso continued her solid play with three hits including a home run, backing up a season-high nine-strikeout effort from Megan Harris as Greater Lawrence won its fourth straight game, 14-4 over Notre Dame of Lawrence.

Walkoff win for Reggies

Jassmelyn DeLeon singled, moved to second on a single by Kiki Donis and scored on a single by Shabeli Villa to give Greater Lawrence a 4-3 walkoff victory over Northeast. Maggie Zorrilla added three hits for the winners.

Rags to riches

After losing to Mystic Valley, 11-0, a little over two weeks ago, Greater Lawrence completely turned the tables yesterday in a 19-6 triumph. Leadoff hitter Danielle Sierra had a pair of hits including a triple and four RBIs while Heather Boutin followed with three hits and three runs scored. After a shaky second inning, pitcher Megan Harris settled down and shut out Mystic Valley the rest of the way.

Clutch freshman

 

Greater Lawrence freshman Kaisha Burgos had a two-run double with the bases loaded in the bottom of the seventh —  her third hit of the game —  as Greater Lawrence slipped past PMA 13-12. Caitlin Gleed had four RBIS, including three in the top of the seventh on a bases-loaded doubles.

Sierra leads Reggies

Danielle Sierra led off the bottom of the first inning with a home run. She got the Greater Lawrence girls softball team's offense jumpstarted as  the Reggies went on to win 16-1 over Chelsea. Sierra went 2 for 2 with two runs scored and two RBIs.

Destiny fulfilled

Sophomore Destiny Jordan's first home run of the year turned a close game into a rout, opening the flood gates in Whittier's 17-1 rout of Greater Lawrence. Taylor Miller threw a two-hitter with 10 strikeouts in the victory.

Reggies break out in the eighth

Freshman Keisha Burgos' two-run double opened the floodgates for Greater Lawrence's nine-run eighth inning.  The Reggies pounded out nine hits in the extra session and cruised to a 12-3 win over Minuteman.  Junior Daniella Sierra (4-for-5) capped off the inning with a two-run homer and Jassmelynn DeLeon also delievered a big hit in that inning with a two-run double. Heather Boutin collected three hits in the win and now has seven in two games. Junior KiKi Donis led off the game-tying sixth inning and the eighth inning with a double.

Heather Boutin had a bases-loaded double in Greater Lawrence's eight-run first inning among her four hits as the Reggies won their first game of the season, 17-7 over Presentation of Mary. Kiki Donis added a single and two doubles in a game that featured 24 walks

North Shore 11, Greater Lawrence 1 (5 innings)

A nine-run first inning did in Greater Lawrence, falling to a strong North Shore team, 11-1, in a game shortened to five innings due to poor field conditions. Shabeli Villa tripled and was driven in by Heather Boutin's single for the lone Reggie tally.
