High-note ending

 

Georgetown's softball team snapped an eight-game losing streak with a 10-4 victory to end its season on a high note. Jane Erlandson, filling in for mononucleosis-plagued sister Sarah picked up her first varsity win and JV catcher Kelsey Dion, an eighth grader, did a nice job filling in at catcher. Amy Cronin was 2 for 3 and scord twice.

Walk-off loss

Kendra Dow's walk-off solo home run in the seventh settled matters as Newburyport beat Georgetown in a game suspended in the sixth inning from Monday. Taylor Nelson tripled and homered for three RBIs and Kassie Barba also homered for the Royals.
