Salem's 1-2 punch

Salem swept a four-team meet over Souhegan, Pelham and Hollis-Brookline. Sophomore Kadie Tommasi and freshman Marrina Mayo went 1-2 in the all-around. Freshman Kelsey Collins placed for the first time with a third on bars. The Blue Devils also got a fine effort from junior  Samantha Cloutier, who placed in all three of her events. Coach Ginnie LaVallo also had high praise for freshman Amber Chopelas. Sophomore Ashley Myer made a strong return from injury.

Thompson leads defending champs

Defending state champion Pinkerton was without its star Olivia Bogaczyck (flu) in its first gymanstics meet of the season. 

But the Astros did just fine, showing off their depth.
