With the bases loaded with no outs in the top of the seventh, shortstop Danielle Sierra made a stellar play and throw home to cut down the runner at home plate for the first out of the inning, and Maggie Santomassino finished off the victory with a strikout to give No. 10 Greater Lawrence an 8-6 victory over No. 23 Weston in the Division 3 North prelminary round.

Junior varsity call-up Karrina Gaud got the win as Greater Lawrence beat Minuteman 18-6 in five innings. Kiki Donis went 4 for 4 including a towering first-inning grand slam.

Lawrence' softball team, down 9-2, rallied for its first win of the season, 17-15 over Greater Lawrence. The Lancers took advantage of a sixth-inning injury to Reggie pitcher Maggie Santomassino, who had to leave the game, by scoring 12 runs in that inning.

The Greater Lawrence softball team qualified for the tournament for the first time since 2006 with a 21-0 rout of Northeast. Kiki Donis led the 21-hits attack for the Reggies (10-4) with two doubles, four hits and four RBIs.  Freshmen Kassandra Ayala had three hits, two RBIs and scored three times.

It wasn't pretty, but Greater Lawrence defeated Lawrence in softball for the first time in at least 15 years, 17-7. The Reggies only had four hits but took advantage of 15 walks and three hit batters.

Trudy Goetchius singled, stole second and scored on a two-out single by Kassandra Ayala to give Greater Lawrence the lead in the top of the seventh, then Maggie Santomassino worked her way out of a bases-loaded jam in the bottom of the inning, forcing the final batter to pop out to Kristina Donis as the Reggies upset Whittier 5-4.

Greater Lawrence beat Notre Dame of Tyngsboro of the MVC 7-2 behind consecutive long homers by Kiki Donis. Maggie Santomassino scattered seven hits in the win.

Greater Lawrence surged to its third straight win, throttling Mystic Valley, 15-4 behind the efforts of a pair of freshmen. Alyssa Melendez had a fourth-inning, bases-loaded double that broke open a tight game as well as three other singles and five RBIs, adding a beautiful running catch in center field as well. Kassandra Ayala had three singles and a triple with two RBIs for the Reggies.

Freshman Alyssa Melendez's three-run homer in the fifth inning capped off a seven-run rally and lifted Greater Lawrence softball to a 11-6 victory over Minuteman.   Pitcher Maggie Santomassino pitched 7 innings, giving up three earned runs, on six hits and no walks while striking out six batters.

Perennial CAC Small champion North Shore-Essex Aggie threatened with two runs in the top of the seventh but Maggie Santomassino was up to the challenge and Greater Lawrence held on 5-4. Freshman catcher Samantha Smerdon had a big day behind the plate while Alyssa Melendez stroked her third triple in the last two games.
