After a couple of strong efforts but minimal offense, John Parsons' bases-loaded double in the first inning signalled a positive change for Central Catholic in a 9-0 whitewashing of Methuen. Brady Abraham cracked a solo homer in the fifth inning and leadoff hitter Anthony Licari kickstarted the attack by getting on base three times.

Cyr sharp

Methuen High needed to end a tough week on a high, and Cam Cyr delivered exactly what the Rangers needed. The senior lefty tossed a complete-game five-hitter, striking out four as the Rangers toppled Lowell, 3-1. "That was a gutsy, gutsy job out there by Cam. He put us on his back today," said Ranger coach Eric Cyr of his Godson/ace. Gary Carbonneau had two of the six Methuen hits, and Danny Aziz drove in a pair of runs in the win.
