Marlayna Buco made an eye-popping 17 saves but Haverhill girls soccer lost 2-0 to Acton-Boxboro in the quarterfinals of the Division 1 North tournament. 

Haverhill's girls soccer team won its first-ever tournament in wild fashion, scoring with 45 seconds left for a 4-3 win over Lynn Classical. Kerrin Thomas scored the game winner for the Hillies (13-1-4) on an assist from Ashley Onofaro, who had a goal and two assists. Haverhill hosts Acton-Boxboro at 4 p.m. Sunday.

Twins Molly and Kerrin Thomas both scored and Marlayna Buco (14 saves) posted her 10th shutout of the fall as Haverhill soccer beat St. Mary's 2-0. The Hillies went 8-0 in October and head into the postseason with a 12-1-4 record.

On Senior Night, three Haverhill seniors scored in a 5-0 victory over Somerville giving the Hillies (10-1-4) their first double digit win total in five years. Among the non-seniors, freshman Maddie Buco scored her first goal.

Marlayna Buco saved a penalty kick and the rebound in the final 10 wild seconds as Haverhill's girls held off Dracut, 1-0. Buco finished the amazing night with 16 saves.

Haverhill girls soccer clinched the MVC Small School Title with a 1-0 home victory over Billerica. Kerrin Thomas found Abby Nauffts for the go-ahead goal eight minutes into the second half. 

Kerrin Thomas scored two goals and Lindsey Fitzpatrick scored one goal and assisted on three others as Haverhill stayed hot with a win over Tewksbury.

Grace Stanton scored two second half goals as Haverhill soccer beat Andover 3-1. Its their first win over Andover since the rivalry began in 1994. Coach Fred Tarbox raved about his defenders Andrea Blanchard, Christine Dauphinais, Molly Thomas and Ashley Onofaro. Haverhill improved to 5-1-4 and Andover dropped to 5-2-1.

 Megan Langlois made 15 saves, 11 in the second half as Methuen (3-3-1) and unbeaten Haverhill played to a scoreless tie in girls soccer action. Marlayna Buco had 8 saves for the 4-0-4 Hillies.

Kelleigh Cokely and Lindsey Fitzpatrick both scored twice as the Haverhill girls soccer team remained unbeaten (4-0-3), whipping Malden 6-2. Molly Thomas had a goal and two assists for the Hillies.
