Pinkerton holds Timberlane to 3 points

Timberlane coach Bruce Johnson summed up yesterday’s lopsided loss in a few simple words.  “Tonight was just a disaster obviously.” he said.  Pinkerton girls basketball held Timberlane to just three points while Pinkerton’s Val Martin scored 14 points to lead the Astros to a 61-3 victory.  “We’ve been short-handed all season,” Johnson explained.  Johnson said two of his players who had suffered concussions returned to the lineup yesterday and played sparingly. Meanwhile, he also has a player out with a hip injury and one out with a knee injury.  One other varsity player wasn’t eligible for last night’s game. Johnson would not go into further detail about why.  “We’re extremely young,” Johnson said. “I’m starting a freshman, I’m starting at least two or three sophomores and a junior.”  Pinkerton did not press Timberlane as the lead grew greater.
