LAWRENCE — After outlasting the downpour that threatened the game's start, it was Methuen that reigned at the Lawrence tournament.

The Rangers, who earned a postseason berth with a semifinal win the night before, rallied twice to tie the score before erupting for four runs in the seventh to defeat Lawrence 7-3.

Evan Lacroix belted a three-run homer and had two doubles, driving in five runs, as Methuen whipped Whittier 11-8.

Sophomore JV call-up Joey Auterio came in and pitched out of a bases-loaded jam and hurled 5.1 innings of one-run ball as Methuen beat Central Catholic 10-4 in eight innings. Josue Espinal scored the tying run in the seventh on a passed ball. Jacob Wallace singled in what proved to be the winning run. Evan Lacroix (3 hits), Enrique Veras (3 RBIs) and Jonathan Pierce (2 RBIs) also starred.

Jacob Wallace stroked a two-out, two-run single in the top of the ninth inning and Methuen baseball ended up winning 8-3 over Everett. 

Jon Pierce drove in three runs on a pair of hits, and Evan Lacroix added three hits and three runs in the leadoff spot, lifting Methuen to a key win over Andover, 7-5. 

Sophomore Jacob Wallace threw a 5-hitter and allowed just one earned run as Methuen beat Central Catholic 7-3. Evan Lacroix, Jonathan Pierce and Danny Aziz each had two hits for the Rangers.

After getting his team out of a jam by striking out a pair in the top of the sixth, Danny Aziz helped make himself and Methuen High a winner in the bottom as the Rangers rallied to stop Everett, 3-2. Aziz knotted things at 2-2 with an RBI double and scored the game-winner on an Everett error. He then took the hill and locked up the victory with a 1-2-3 seventh as the Rangers move to 3-3.

Enrique Veras drove in four runs and Josue Espinal scored four runs and drove in three more as Methuen bested Tewksbury 17-0.

Shortstop Jonathan Pierce made a diving catch of a hot liner, tagged second and threw to first for the triple play. That ended a second inning rally and keyed Methuen's 4-3 win over Lowell. Enrique Veras belted two triples and Evan Lacroix tripled. Winning pitcher Danny Aziz hurled 2.2 innings of shutout relief.
