ANDOVER — Andover senior Charlotte Lenes said her teammates have more fire in them than any other team she has played for. “We’re a team of fighters,” Lenes said. “And when the competition gets tough, that just inspires us to push even harder.”   Lenes (five goals) and her teammates did fight yesterday when things got tough. Trailing Winchester the entire game and by four goals at one point during the second half, Andover rallied to tie it 9-9 with 2:03 left. But the Golden Warriors couldn’t complete the comeback. Alex Curtin scored the game-winner with 19 seconds remaining as third-seeded Winchester won 10-9 over second-seeded Andover in the Division 1 North semifinals here at Andover High.   Lenes was impressed by Winchester’s hustle. “They were always first to the ball, which really made a lot of difference on those 50/50 balls,” said Lenes, who will study biology at Northeastern next year.   Lenes had an impressive tourney with 12 goals in the first two games combined (wins over Haverhill and Billerica) and then five more yesterday.   “(Winchester) face-guarded Weezie (Gross), who’s one of our best players,” Lenes said. “She’s super talented and always puts up big numbers. And taking her out of the game hurt us offensively. But it gave some of the other girls a chance to step up. Their defense was just all about the hustle, which it’s tough to beat a defense like that.” Winchester goalie Hallie Stone made 11 saves, including two crucial ones with the score knotted 9-9.   “The toughest thing with big goalies is that when they come out, it makes the net or the open spaces tougher to get to with shots,” Lenes said. “So when she stepped out, it made the angle a little more difficult, especially for eight-meter shots.” The Golden Warriors trailed 5-1 with 10:57 left in the first half but outscored Winchester 4-2 during the remainder of the half behind three goals from Lenes and one from Courtney Grygiel to pull within 7-5 by the break. “I just loved my team,” Lenes said. “I couldn’t have asked for a better group of girls to play with and to spend my final season on this team with. They make me smile. They make me laugh every day. It’s exciting to go to practice. It’s exciting to be a part of this.” Winchester (17-4) will play at top-seeded North Andover (20-1-1) in the North final tomorrow at 7 p.m.   “I think North Andover has a great chance of winning the North championship,” said Lenes, whose team lost to the Scarlet Knights twice in the regular season. “They have an incredible coaching staff who I think some of them are just fresh off the college field. So they have a lot of insight into the game and how it is now. And they have incredible talent, like the goalie on North Andover (Lauren Hiller) is just insane and they have a really strong girl on the draws.”

NORTH ANDOVER — Leah Chittick took the pass near midfield, surged towards the net and, just as she was sent flying to the ground by a hard shoulder, buried what proved to be the biggest goal of her career.
