Methuen's field hockey team won its Division 1 North preliminary game Wednesday afternoon, blanking MVC foe Lawrence, 1-0. Rachel Vins scored in the first half for the Rangers (11-7), who play at Andover Friday, and the defense did the rest. Catrina Crowe played a strong game in the midfield and Jenna Ciccotelli had two saves, Nairobi Ubilez had six saves for Lawrence.

Rachel Zins scored in the first half for the Rangers (11-7), who play at Andover Friday, and the defense did the rest. Catrina Crowe played a strong game in the midfield and Jenna Ciccotelli had two saves to give the Rangers their first tourney win since 2004 North semifinalist squad.

Nairobi Ubilez had seven saves and Angeli Feliz scored as Lawrence field hockey shaded Lowell 1-0.

Emma Johns had a part in every goal with two goals and an assist as North Andover's field hockey team improved to 7-2-2 with a 3-0 shutout of Lawrence.  Narobi Ubilez had 12 saves for Lawrence. 

Sophomore Kathryn Devaney had two goals and an assist to lead Andover's unbeaten (8-0) and unscored upon field hockey team to a 5-0 victory over Lawrence. Tori Roche added a goal and an assist.

Led by its defense, which didn't allow a shot on goal, Lawrence's surprising field hockey team improved to 4-2-1 with a 1-0 victory over Haverhill. Emily Castillo scored the lone goal for the Lancers. Alex Comeau made 10 saves for the Hillies.

Lawrence's field hockey team improved to 3-1-1, which is its best start in many years, with a 3-2 comeback win over Dracut. Ydalis Villa led the way with a goal and an assist.

For the first time in memory, Lawrence field hockey has a winning record. Mariel Tapia was all over the field defensively and Yankelly Villa and Cristal Diaz scored in the Lancers' 2-0 win over Methuen. Nairobi Ubilez notched 11 big saves.

Bioribel Castillo took a pass from Jazmin Torres and scored late in the first half to give Lawrence a season-opening 1-0 victory over Georgetown. Nairobi Ubilez made eight saves for the shutout.
